About this fundraiser
Max is a sweet 4-year-old shepherd mix who came to us in March after his family could no longer care for him. From the moment he arrived, he has been everyone's favorite. He wags his tail at every visitor, leans into ear scratches, and eats treats with embarrassing enthusiasm.
Two weeks ago, Max started limping. After x-rays and a careful exam, our vet confirmed what we feared: a torn cranial cruciate ligament in his right rear leg. Without surgery, he is looking at a lifetime of pain and worsening arthritis. With surgery, he can be back to chasing tennis balls in 8 to 12 weeks.
The surgery and recovery, including post-op medication, follow-up x-rays, and physical therapy, comes to $8,000. We have covered the initial diagnostics already, but the surgery itself is what we need help with.
Max has been the easiest dog to fall for. He deserves to walk pain-free. Please consider helping us get him there.
Every dollar goes directly to his medical care. Thank you for caring.
